Updates

We submitted letters to USAID Administrator Samantha Power and Congresspeople–including Senators Patty Murray and Maria Cantwell (WA), Representatives Adam Smith and Derek Kilmer (WA), Senator Patrick Leahy (VT), Chair of the Senate Appropriations Committee, and Senator Jeff Merkley (OR)–summarizing our campaign and calling on the agency and Congress to stop using taxpayer dollars to fund the Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa. We also issued a press release to a number of outlets. Check out recent critical coverage of AGRA in the Seattle Times, Democracy Now! (briefly, in an interview with AFSA’s Million Belay), and elsewhere! You can also watch AFSA’s recent press conference calling on donors to stop funding AGRA, in the lead up to the African Green Revolution Forum, here.
